This is our club’s first serious foray into this type of activity; we are only on VHF this time; maybe NVIS HF in the future. I hope our clubs can link up in some way during Adrian’s S.E.T. (Simulated Emergency Test) exercise this coming Saturday, October 3rd, from 9a.m. to noon. Here’s how:
1. If any TMRA person can reach Adrian’s repeater, a check-in is very welcome: W8TQE 145.370 PL 85.4 Net opens at 9 a.m.
2. We will also operate on simplex frequency 146.580
3. Join us in person; come to the EOC or any of the “shelters” and hang out.
Operators of the EOC will manage the exercise from the club station at the airport – the same site as the recent hamfest.
Three outlying tactical sites “Shelters”- one behind Hickman Hospital north of town, one at Maple Avenue Bible Church parking lot at 735 W. Maple Ave, Adrian, and one at a parking lot adjacent to (just east of) McDonald’s at 223 and M52 will be staffed by at least two operators each.
EOC will open the net and take check-ins (any and all invited) and then will engage in a scripted simulated emergency dialogue with the operators at the three “shelters”.
