Purpose: Toledo Amateur Radio Outings take place once every month all year
long, rain or shine. We gather at a common location, set up and operate portable HF, VHF, and Microwave stations. This provides an opportunity to hone our skills in rapid and efficient deployment of Amateur Radio stations in the field in what are often times non-optimum conditions.
Readiness: Regular practice results in better preparedness to respond to deployments in any times of emergency. By participating you will improve your skills for events such as OHR, POTA, SOTA, Red-Cross Shelters, SHTF, etc. And this better prepares us
for the annual “Field Day” event.
Go-Kits: Our “Go-Kits” get better and better each time we do a Toledo Amateur Radio Outing. We get better at *not* leaving items behind and assuring we have everything we need to make a deployment. A certain “competition” naturally occurs as team members strive to create the best Go-Kit, ever! 🙂
Having something to set up is *NOT* a requirement. You do not have to be a member of any group or organization. Simply come on out to mingle, exchange ideas, learn, and to just have FUN!!! Check-in on the 442.850 repeater with a PL of 103.5.
We want to make contact on 40 meters using the frequency 7.213.00 . This frequency reminds us that the ICS 213 form is for Emcomm use.
